No One Wears a Bow-Tie Like Walton Goggins. No One.
Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath on A&E at 8:00pm ET. Weird thought I had as I was looking through the various Christmas movie listings; do Scientologists have holidays? I don’t remember any mention of holidays in Going Clear or anything else I’ve read about the religion and it seems like a very strange oversight if they don’t. Religious ceremonies celebrating important events in the history of religion are pretty common through all religions in the world, even if those ceremonies aren’t meant to be festive.
Sunday Night Football: New England Patriots at Denver Broncos on NBC at 8:20pm ET.
A&E Special: Elizabeth Smart: Autobiography. Part #1 on A&E at 9:00pm ET. 90 minute special presentation. Elizabeth Smart has become a really thoughtful advocate for sexual abuse victims and the ways society helps and hurts them. This two-part documentary covers both her abduction and captivity as well as her rescue and her life now as a mother. There’s also a movie coming out on Lifetime about her ordeal that she visited the set and has said she’s pleased with.
Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown: Anthony Bourdain Presents: Jeremiah Tower on CNN at 9:00pm ET. Two-hour special presentation. This isn’t a place Bourdain is visiting, instead he’s doing a deep-dive on the chef Jeremiah Tower who was known as America’s first celebrity chef.
Vice Principals on HBO at 10:35pm ET. Series finale.
