Gotham on Fox at 8:00pm ET. First season finale. This has been renewed for a second season, which means that next spring we will have two versions of Batman competing for pop culture attention. Lil’ Batman here on Gotham and Batfleck in Batman vs. Superman: SVU. You can start making your bets now on which one ends up being a more compelling and sympathetic portrayal, but since BatTeen is currently getting upstaged by The Penguin, I think the odds are pretty even money.

Bates Motel on A&E at 9:00pm ET.

Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck on HBO at 9:00pm ET. There are a lot of people who struggle to find the defining point between the youngest of Gen X’ers and the oldest of the Milennials as the numbers get fairly fuzzy around the the early to mid-80s. My personal definition is that if you knew, consciously, who Kurt Cobain was before he died then you are a Gen X’er. It has less to do with age than it does cultural influence and I think that’s the best way to draw the line. For any of you who had that cultural influence, this documentary was executive produced by Frances Bean Cobain who told director “Keep it real and make it honest.” This is not an idealized portrait, nor a way to denigrate the man. The goal was to show you who Kurt Cobain was as a person, through his own words and artwork.

RuPaul’s Drag Race on Logo at 9:00pm ET.

David Letterman: A Life on Television on CBS at 9:30pm ET. 90 minute special presentation.

Genevieve Burgess has ended up classifying herself as a Milennial, and feels relatively at peace with that knowledge.
