Backstrom on Fox at 9:00pm ET. So last week I watched this to see if it deserved my rant regarding the overuse of the “verbally abusive genius white guy” trope in TV shows. After viewing it, I feel pretty comfortable with my stance that I watch TV for escapism, not just another outlet in which dudes who can’t bother to shave get to roll their eyes at me and my enjoyment of “normal people hobbies” or insistence on “minimal levels of respect for my fellow humans.”

Scandal on ABC at 9:00pm ET. Fourth season winter premiere. We get to find out who took Olivia and where she is! And I have to tell you, I did see that coming a mile away. Last fall I was definitely like “You know, there seem to be a lot of dudes showing up in Olivia’s apartment that she never gave a key to. She should probably move or at the VERY least, change her locks.” But I guess that’s not super dramatic or interesting. Still totally the season of Mellie, though.

Archer on FX at 10:00pm ET.

How To Get Away With Murder on ABC at 10:00pm ET. First season winter premiere.

Parenthood on NBC at 10:00pm ET. Series finale. Hey, that show that makes you all cry is going away! That’s a good thing, right? Right? … I don’t get you people.

Genevieve Burgess wishes that one time we could see what those apartment-invaders do in the time before their target arrives.
