500 Questions on ABC at 8:00pm ET.

America’s Got Talent on NBC at 8:00pm ET. 10th season premiere. The Nick Cannon Summer Employment Program has begun again.

Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader on Fox at 8:00pm ET. Fourth season premiere. I always wince when I see the title of the show, because what’s actually being tested here is casual knowledge rather than intelligence. The questions have nothing to do with whether one party is smarter than the other, just which one happens to be able to come up with the information requested. There is a big difference between being smart and being more knowledgeable. But I guess “Are You More Knowledgeable Than a Fifth Grader?” doesn’t really roll off the tongue as well.

iZombie on The CW at 9:00pm ET.

I Can Do That on NBC at 10:01pm ET. Series premiere. This is an “unconventional variety show” where the cast members have to put on a new act each week. Marlon Waynes will be hosting, and the six regulars (mostly pop stars and low level comedians and actors) will work to put together new acts with guest performers from other fields. The regulars this season are Joe Jonas, Nicole Scherzinger, Ciara, Jeff Dye and Alan Ritchson. The special guests the first week are The Harlem Globetrotters, Penn and Teller, and Airealistic.

Genevieve Burgess will let you all fight over whether it’s better to be smarter or more knowledgeable.
