The Show for People Who Want to Hate Pancakes is Back, Sports Stuff Too
NCAA Basketball Special: First Round: villanova vs. Mt.St Marys/New Orleans on CBS at 7:10pm ET. The annual malady known as “March Madness” has infected large sections of the country. Luckily, we can track the spread of the disease through television networks. As the month progresses we’ll see the symptoms either abate suddenly when something called a “bracket” “busts” or the fever will hold them through several weeks before peaking and then subsiding to a sort of distracted malaise sometime close to Easter. At which point we’ll all avoid discussing how much money and emotional energy was just invested in the reliability and predictability of athletes who are mostly so young we don’t even allow them to buy their own alcohol.
Grey’s Anatomy on ABC at 8:00pm ET.
Scandal on ABC at 9:01pm ET. I saw a promo that seemed to indicate that the only recently elected President was shot on the show? And since Fitz was shot in a previous season, we’re talking two Presidents shot in less than 10 years. So I assume at some point the show will just become a series of tiresome Congressional hearings on the policies of the Secret Service, right? Or have I been living in real-world DC too long?
Baskets on FX at 10:00pm ET.
Review with Forrest MacNeil on Comedy Central at 10:00pm ET. Third season premiere. This is the final season for Review so enjoy it while you can. This type of comedy makes me achingly uncomfortable, but I know it’s very popular with many others.
