The Promo Image Looks Like Propaganda and A Laser Tag Ad, Somehow
Face Off on SyFy at 9:00pm ET. 10th season finale.
Nova: Can Alzheimer’s Be Stopped on PBS at 9:00pm ET. I don’t think I (or anyone else) will like the answer to the question right now, but I’m glad it’s being asked and I hope the answer changes before too long.
Strong on NBC at 9:00pm ET. Two hour series premiere. The latest competitive weight loss series is apparently not about weight loss. Olympic volleyball player Gabrielle Reece hosts this new series where contests will “embark on a transformative journey to reach their full potential.” Each contestant gets their own trainer, and it seems like it’s less about direct competition than it is overall effort and commitment. I’m glad that it’s got a better attitude than many of the other competitive fitness shows, but I’m sure it will manage to be horribly exploitative somehow. They always are. Fitness style looks like a lot of crossfit kind of training if that makes a difference for you.
The Americans on FX at 10:00pm ET. One episode to go to the finale, and last week stopped being polite and started being real. It will be interesting to see where they’re going to end this season.
Broad City on Comedy Central at 10:00pm ET.
