The Celebrity Apprentice on NBC at 8:00pm ET. I guess it makes a sick kind of sense that Arnold Schwarzenegger is hosting this since he can’t actually become President. Bringing that show biz career full circle.
Gotham on Fox at 8:00pm ET.
Beyond on Freeform at 9:00pm ET. I thought this was the Star Trek movie that wasn’t really a Star Trek movie?
The Young Pope on HBO at 9:00pm ET. Time slot premiere. I am delighted by this show so far. Jude Law looks like he’s having the time of his life, everything else looks gorgeous, and we all need the reminder that Catholicism was mostly made up in the first millennia and no one’s bothered to do much with it since then so it’s pretty weird when you get down to it. “There is only one God. But then he also has a son who is also God. But there’s also a dude we vote for who is supposed to be God on earth, but is not God’s son, but can’t be called a representative of God because we’re not down with idols and it’s his office that’s God but not him himself. Unless he’s holding the office and then he’s God. But not.” It probably won’t be Game of Thrones: Vatican Edition like the trailers clearly want it to be, but I’m more than fine with that. We all need to take a bit of a break from our yarn walls now and then.
Timeless on NBC at 10:00pm ET. I’ve only recently figured out that this show is the current excuse to keep Goran Visnjic on TV so I can’t be too mad at it. Given his run with TV series the last few years, though, I wouldn’t get my hopes up for a second season.
