The 3rd Annual Howie Mandel Stand-Up Gala on The CW at 8:00pm ET. 90-minute special presentation. My thoughts on this, in order: 1. What? 2. WHAT?!? 3. THIRD?!? 4. 90 MINUTES? 5. Someone’s fucking with me right? 6. Why are we out of bourbon?

The X-Files on Fox at 8:00pm ET. I heard about what happened in the last episode so hahahahahahahahaha fuck you, Chris Carter. I was Scully for Halloween this past year and you’re never going to take that strong, skeptical, straight-shooting badass away from me no matter how hard you try.

The Magicians on SyFy at 9:00pm ET. Third season premiere.

Happy! on SyFy at 10:00pm ET.

Rooster & Butch on A&E at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. So I have gone on a JOURNEY researching this for you. First of all, this is basically a hick version of Shark Tank, and that’s not me being a liberal elitist, that is absolutely the vibe they’re going for. SECONDLY, it is not even their first try at a hick version of Shark Tank. These same two guys had a show called West Texas Investors Club that ran on CNBC for two years in 2015 and 2016. Here’s the hook for this version from the A&E website. “A pretty balance sheet will only get you so far in West Texas - these good old boys will only throw their money down after they’ve tested the true measure of an entrepreneur’s character. Integrity first; idea second.” And to round it all out, the “Rooster” of the title is Mike ‘Rooster’ McConaughey, who is the older brother of Matthew McConaughey. Honestly, the longer I looked the weirder it got, so I made an executive decision to stop looking, but I am low-key obsessed with this trainwreck of a show now.
