The Bachelor on ABC at 8:00pm ET. 20th season premiere.

Supergirl on CBS at 8:00pm ET. First season winter premiere.

Superhuman on Fox at 8:00pm ET. Special presentation. This two hour special sees Kal Penn displaying people with extraordinary senses or skills being challenged to push those skills to the limit for a cash prize.

The Biggest Loser on NBC at 9:00pm ET. 17th season premiere. Am I only just noticing that The Biggest Loser starts right after New Years? Man, that is an excellent way to make people feel shitty about their resolutions even though most of us understand logically that its a show that condenses months worth of work into a few hours of TV, employs professional trainers, has contestants who have no other obligations to fulfill, and which probably encourages some pretty unhealthy weight loss methods. Luckily, most of the resolutions I fail at involve learning other languages or not hitting my snooze button as often, so I’ll keep on happily ignoring this.

History Special: The Seven New Signs of the Apocalypse on History at 9:00pm ET. I can’t find any information about this online but I’m sure it will be just as carefully balanced and researched as all of the rest of the History Channel’s programming, and not at all designed to whip the slightly less than stable into a frenzy.
