Sharknado 5: Global Swarming on SyFy at 8:00pm ET. Original Telefilm. *Heaves deepest of sighs*

Twin Peaks on Showtime at 8:00pm ET. New time slot.

Ray Donovan on Showtime at 9:00pm ET. Fifth season premiere. The other day I overheard an actual person that I am acquainted with talk about being glad this show is coming back, so my theory that it’s only watched by Emmy voters is apparently not entirely accurate.

Game of Thrones on HBO at 9:00pm ET. This is the episode that leaked online and caused me to basically stay off Twitter and several other sites I enjoy very much all weekend. Instead I’ve been reading actual books, newspapers, and spending time outside like a PEASANT. Most of it has been very nice.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on HBO at 10:30pm ET. If you have not read the amicus brief drafted by Jamie Lynn Crofts of ACLU-WV in response to coal magnate Bob Murray suing John Oliver, I highly recommend you take the time to do so right now. It probably won’t be used in the actual defamation suit, HBO doesn’t NEED the ACLU to defend their journalists, but it’s a joy in its own right and probably as much a dream come true for Ms. Crofts as having someone in a squirrel costume tell Bob Murray to “eat shit” was for John Oliver.
