16 for ‘16 on PBS at 8:00pm ET. This is a series that focuses on some of the most “compelling and tumultuous” presidential campaigns in US history. This episode covers Goldwater and Reagan. Which means all of the Goldwater parts will be uncomfortably familiar to anyone paying attention to this election and all the Reagan parts will seem shockingly liberal compared to modern Republican policies.
American Housewife on ABC at 8:30pm ET. Series premiere. This is about a woman who just doesn’t fit in with the other picture perfect moms. Because she’s a little larger, and I guess in TV land, that makes you the odd mom out instead of “an average-sized American woman.” I’m not saying that no one has this experience, I’m just saying that I think the television show might be stretching it a bit.
Fresh Off the Boat on ABC at 9:00pm ET. Third season premiere.
Halt and Catch Fire on AMC at 9:00pm ET. Some people have gotten annoyed that I didn’t mention this was still on, so hey! It’s still on! And, from what I can tell from episode summaries, literally a completely different show than it started out as! That is an interesting move if your show isn’t working the way you want it to, just pick up the secondary characters, give them a new story, and start all over again.
The Real O’Neals on ABC at 9:30pm ET. Second season premiere.
