Pete Campbell: The Early EARLY Years
The Leftovers on HBO at 9:00pm ET.
Saints and Strangers on National Geographic Channel at 9:00pm ET. Original miniseries premiere, part one of two. An unsentimental view of the uneasy alliance that grew between pilgrims and Native Americans in Plymouth Colony in 1620. Starring Vincent Kartheiser, Anna Camp, Ron Livingston, and Ray Stevenson, as the pilgrims and Raoul Trujillo and Kalani Queypo as leaders of the Native American tribes. Given that Kartheiser’s Pete Campbell boasted about his family’s early American roots, I’m going to go ahead and assume this takes place in-universe with Mad Men.
The Walking Dead on AMC at 9:00pm ET.
Trevor Noah: Lost in Translation on Comedy Central at 10:00pm ET. For all of you who can’t get enough of the giggly, dimpled, accented new host of The Daily Show, here’s a whole comedy special he made just for you.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on HBO at 11:00pm ET. Second season finale. And just as the television gods give us more of some adorable foreign late night hosts, so they also take away. How will we learn about issues that don’t tie into the regular news cycle now? “Newspapers”? I’m not familiar with the concept.
