"No, We Didn't Take Her Actual Face Off, Why Do People Keep Asking That?"
The Flash on The CW at 8:00pm ET. Third season winter premiere.
Face Off on SyFy at 9:00pm ET. 11th season premiere. Eleven seasons and I still automatically think “they made that crazy movie into a series?!?” every time it shows back up. If you’re going to use the name of a well-established media property and you’re not making a spin-off, you ought to think real hard about how you’re measuring up to the original.
Bones on Fox at 9:01pm ET.
Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath on A&E at 10:00pm ET. Every episode of this show has been listed on the site I use for TV listings as a “special presentation” so I don’t know what A&E is trying to do with that. It’s obviously a series, or a mini-series, not an ongoing series of weekly “special presentations” all with the same title. There’s not really anything wrong with it, I guess, it just means I get irrationally annoyed at A&E every week even though I’m super glad they have this series on at all.
Taboo on FX at 10:00pm ET. Last week’s episode featured the guy who played Tommy in Snatch as a bald badass with a weird skull tattoo and I yelled at my TV “TOMMY FINALLY HAS THE MINERALS!” because I’ve seen that movie too many times. Also, if this show never moves over to the forests of Canada to give us loin cloth Tom Hardy for real I’m going to feel completely betrayed.
