American Idol on Fox at 8:00pm ET. 550th episode! Good news is, they’ll never reach 600.

Grey’s Anatomy on ABC at 8:00pm ET. Lately I seem to be busy on Thursday nights pretty regularly so I’m missing most of my trash TV. One would think this would be a good time to formally break up with it, but there are always lazy Sunday afternoons that need filling with things that aren’t real work.

The Family on ABC at 9:00pm ET. Series premiere. This is some show about a kid who disappeared and shows up again 10 years later but IS IT REALLY HIM?!? and about the only things I can see in favor of it is that it stars Joan Allen and Matty Saracen. But it looks far too impressed with itself to be enjoyable, and coming in the middle of the Thursday night o’ ridiculous dramas on ABC it just seems odd. And yes, everyone who was on Friday Night Lights can be referenced by their character name for ever and all of time amen.

Baskets on FX at 10:00pm ET.

Late Night Snack on TruTV at 11:00pm ET. Series premiere. Rachel Dratch’s new late night show. As much as I think the format is pretty stale, I’m also generally in favor of ladies having late night shows if they want them.
