Ascension on SyFy at 9:00pm ET. Series premiere. Still chasing that sweet Battlestar Galactica high, this new series is about a secret space exploration mission for the last 51 years, so the people running the ship have never known a life on earth. Nor will they know a life on their destination planet. It stars Tricia Helfer, which is a plus. It has already been compared to Mad Men which is kind of a minus in my books, but I guess I’ll mark it neutral overall.

Jane the Virgin on The CW at 9:00pm ET. First season fall finale.

Why Planes Crash on the Weather Channel at 9:00pm ET. Second season premiere. This basically sounds like the worst show to watch right before a bunch of holiday travel. Don’t do it.

Booze Traveler on Travel at 10:00pm ET. Ok, now I know these two shows are just fucking with us/each other because this show is going to Austria and Chug over on the National Geographic Channel is going to Vienna, the capital of Austria. I wonder if they ran into each other while filming and if the PAs got into a fight. They should air that footage.

Genevieve Burgess has little confidence in SyFy but wishes them the best of luck regardless.
