I Know the Gecko Brothers and You, Sirs, Are Not the Gecko Brothers
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD on ABC at 8:00pm ET.
From Dusk Till Dawn on El Rey at 9:00pm ET. Series premiere. I see many of you going “What the hell is the ‘El Rey’ network?” because that’s exactly what I did when I saw this. According to some cursory googling, it’s a new channel launched by Robert Rodriguez in a partnership with Univision. Right now it’s only being carried by Comcast, DirecTV and Time Warner Cable. This series will build on the characters and story from the film From Dusk Till Dawn and bring more Aztec mythology to the mix. There is no George Clooney or Salma Hayek, though, so count me out.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Fox at 9:30pm ET.
Chrisley Knows Best on USA at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. So, I kind of understand reality series centered around D-list celebrities. Like, these people were once in the public eye, I kind of see how it might be interesting to see what they’re up to now. But when things like this happen, which is an entirely new reality series centered around a wealthy family from Atlanta, I’m just bewildered. Why would I ever care about these people? And then when googling to find out why I should care about them, I come across the fact that they’re apparently knee-deep in bankruptcy hearings and suspected of hiding assets. I’m sure a reality series is the best way to dispute that. Or an excellent way to hand evidence to the court-appointed trustee, whatever.
Justified on FX at 10:00pm ET.
Genevieve Burgess doesn’t know much about bankruptcy, but flashing your lavish lifestyle on TV while attempting to declare bankruptcy seems ill-advised at best.
