The Bachelor on ABC at 8:00pm ET. I have to apologize, Monday television is still kind of a wasteland. I’m hoping that more shows start coming back next week because pickings were BEYOND slim for tonight’s column. Here’s hoping you’ve got a Netflix or DVR backlog to work through.
Fashion Police: The 2016 Golden Globe Awards on E! at 8:00pm ET. Woooo, all the pretty dresses from last night! And the not so pretty ones. I guess. And probably some discussion of the few men who were brave enough to pull away from a standard black tux.
The Biggest Loser on NBC at 9:00pm ET.
Cake Wars on Food Network at 9:00pm ET. Third season premiere. This week’s theme is Star Wars! So I’m anticipating at least one full BB-8 cake, but if we’re really lucky maybe someone will manage to make an edible Millennium Falcon. Also, did you know that Aaron from Mean Girls is hosting this now? I just found that out.
The Marijuana Revolution on History at 9:00pm ET. I live in Washington D.C, which has the very special privilege of a local government that’s subject to meddling by Congresspeople who don’t live here. This means that after DC voters overwhelmingly voted to decriminalize marijuana and set up legal methods to cultivate and sell it, Congress passed a measure prohibiting DC from using any of their own funds to establish or govern dispensaries or other legal exchanges. So it’s currently perfectly legal to own and grow marijuana, and to give it away to other people, but not to sell or buy it. This is obviously the best possible outcome, proof that DC’s governmental structure is totally great, and is in no way a giant joke.
