Has ABC Stumbled Into the Most Politically Relevant Show of 2017?
Bob’s Burgers on Fox at 7:30pm ET.
Top Gear on BBCA at 8:00pm ET. 24th season premiere.
Big Little Lies on HBO at 9:00pm ET. I’m starting to formulate some theories about where things are going, but nothing too big yet. I still think they haven’t given us enough information about the murder to keep us interested in it. I understand why they’re being deliberately vague about who was killed, but we’re not getting ANY real clues just a bunch of tertiary characters talking about what happened before the murder. Luckily, the central plots aside from the murder are still interesting enough on their own, and I almost wish they’d left out the hints of what’s to come and just let things develop organically. Any book readers have strong opinions otherwise?
Keeping Up with the Kardashians on E! at 9:00pm ET. 13th season premiere. There seems to be a weird attempt to “rebrand” Kylie and Kendall Jenner as Kardashians which raises an interesting question of what IS a Kardashian? Neither of them have any genetic claim to the name, yet they’re on the show all the time. Kris Jenner hasn’t been a Kardashian since 1991 and yet seems to be the mastermind behind the whole media empire. So if it’s truly a brand, they can recruit anyone they want to be a Kardashian, and I’m sure they’d love some suggestions.
American Crime on ABC at 10:00pm ET. Third season premiere. This season’s central theme is illegal immigration, which is alarmingly topical.
