You Know, Fox Turned Into the Gordon Ramsey Channel So Gradually, I Didn't Even Notice

Catfish on MTV at 8:00pm ET. This is apparently some special called “Catfish: The Untold Stories Part 9” and what the hell, guys, I thought that’s what the show was ABOUT. “I have this thing I need to tell someone that I haven’t told them yet” or “I think this person isn’t telling me something and I want to know what” it is ENTIRELY untold stories getting dragged out into the light by some guy with no marketable skills beyond harassing socially awkward people who just wanted to make friends on the computer but didn’t do it the right way. But they’ve made a clip show of it, because I guess that’s what all reality shows are obligated to do.

Big Star Little Star on USA at 9:00pm ET. Series premiere.

The Carmichael Show on NBC at 9:00pm ET. Third season premiere.

The F Word with Gordon Ramsey on Fox at 9:00pm ET. Series premiere. This looks like a more straightforward cooking show featuring Gordon Ramsey, which seems like he’s doing the whole “celebrity chef” career in reverse. I thought you started with the cooking shows, and then worked your way up to judging or hosting shows that only required about 15 minutes of your participation per hour-long episode, leaving you lots more time to sign-off on branded sauces and cash your fat checks. It’s also listed as a new series but seems to have aired in the UK several years ago, so I guess Fox rebooted it for Americans. So now not only can we not come up with our own scripted TV, we even have to import the reality stuff. I guess we deserve it for exporting the Jersey Shore formula back in the early aughts.

Fargo on FX at 10:00pm ET. Carrie Coon’s Gloria visibly deciding to completely ignore Varga in last week’s episode is as inspirational as anything she’s ever done on The Leftovers.

Some General Thoughts On That D&D Episode Of 'iZombie' | 'Sin City' May Get A Television Series: Thanks, 2005!
