Dear Spain, Thanks for the TV Ideas!

America’s Got Talent on NBC at 8:00pm ET. Two hour ninth season finale.

Red Band Society on Fox at 9:00pm ET. Series premiere. This is a remake of Polseres vermelles, a Catalan series about young patients living in a hospital. This version follows the same concept, and stars Octavia Spencer as a nurse with Mandy Moore playing a doctor. This will probably be one of those shows that’s darkly funny up until it’s completely tragic. Like Scrubs could be.

The Bridge on FX at 10:00pm ET.

Extant on CBS at 10:00pm ET. First season finale. I might have to tune in just to see if this ever got more interesting.

The Mysteries of Laura on NBC at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. A adaptation of the Spanish series Los misterios de Laura about a woman who manages to be the mother of twins AND ALSO! a police officer! Thrilling, right?!? Seriously, NBC, you couldn’t even change the name of the main character? Also I find it very weird that both Fox and NBC have shows that were adapted from series originally airing in Spain premiering on the same night. That is either a fantastic coincidence or a sort of “inside baseball” pissing contest that I only noticed because I actually bother looking all these stupid new shows up. Anyway. This one stars Debra Messing and Josh Lucas along with a pair of twin boys who will probably get up to very telegenic hijinks.

Genevieve Burgess thinks that she should spend tonight practicing her Spanish.
