Believer on HBO at 8:00pm ET. This is about Dan Reynolds of the band Imagine Dragons and his mission to “explore” how the Mormon Church treats its LGBTQ+ members. Spoiler alert: Not great!

American Ninja Warrior on NBC at 9:00pm ET.

Cultureshock on A&E at 9:00pm ET. Series premiere. This series is supposed to “take an in-depth look at the untold stories behind watershed moments in pop culture that have had a lasting impact on our society” but looking at the moments chosen is mostly a sad commentary on our culture. The first one is “Michael Jackson’s Final Curtain Call”. Later episodes explore such disparate cultural moments as the rise of the Osbournes and “Trash TV” and also Freaks and Geeks.

Salvation on CBS at 9:00pm ET. Second season premiere. I don’t think I ever acknowledged the first season of this show, about the discovery of an asteroid that will impact earth in six months. Or I hope I never did because I legitimately have absolutely no memory of this show ever existing.

Elementary on CBS at 10:00pm ET.
