Riverdale on The CW at 8:00pm ET.

The Originals on The CW at 9:00pm ET. Fifth season premiere.

The Americans on FX at 10:00pm ET.

Catfish: The TV Show: Catfish Keeps it 100: The Aftershock on MTV at 10:00pm ET. I like how they’re still appending “The TV Show” to Catfish like the movie is so well known that people would make the mistake that it was on MTV all the time and somehow be disappointed when that was not the case. And I just surprised the… most of you who did not know that Catfish was a movie eight years ago that marketed itself as a “documentary.” The show has now been running since late 2012. Two more years and their target audience won’t have been born before the movie came out.

Criminal Minds on CBS at 10:00pm ET. 13th season finale. If I were still in school, I might do a media research piece about the procedural tipping point where the show becomes far more about the main characters and things happening to them instead of them happening to things, if that makes sense. Crime procedurals seem particularly guilty of this, as anyone still occasionally tuning into Law & Order: SVU: Why is Olivia Crying Now? will be very aware of.
