Consecutive Night Premieres Must be Hell on the DVR Crowd
Gotham on Fox at 8:00pm ET.
Jane the Virgin on The CW at 9:00pm ET. I saw last week’s “twist” telegraphed sometime around the beginning of the episode, but it’s all so delightfully soapy that I’m fine with it. I like the balance they seem to have struck where Jane and the people closest to her mostly behave like regular people, but the secondary and tertiary characters work to get that chaotic, telenovela feel to the whole show.
Sleepy Hollow on Fox at 9:00pm ET.
Better Call Saul on AMC at 10:00pm ET. Time slot premiere. This will be the usual time for this show, so we still have a little breathing room on Sundays. Also, I will place a bet with all of you right now that at some point this season I will type the title as Better Caul Saul and neglect to correct it before the article is published. I will blame it on the fact that I tend to get these blurbs written around midnight, but the truth is just that I tend to have problems with typing homophones because when I’m typing I hear words more than I see them.
Castle on ABC at 10:01pm ET.
Genevieve Burgess has been touch typing since age 10, but still has to ‘say’ everything in her head as she goes.
