Gotham on Fox at 8:00pm ET.

American Dad on TBS at 9:00pm ET. 10th season premiere. Hey! Guess Seth MacFarlane’s stranglehold on Fox isn’t as firm as it once was if this is getting bumped over to TBS.

Private Violence on HBO at 9:00pm ET. This is a documentary that centers around domestic violence, in particular the case of Deanna Walters from North Carolina. The filmmaker, Cynthia Hill, uses this one specific case to explore the difficulties faced by victims when they attempt to leave their abusers, and the various ways the responses by police and the justice system are frequently insufficient or end up putting the victims at further risk. This documentary features actual photos of battered victims shown, and audio recordings of abuse.

Jane the Virgin on The CW at 9:00pm ET.

The Blacklist on NBC at 10:00pm ET. More like the Black HOLE, of talent, right? Right, cause, like, everyone on the show is bad except James Spader? Or so you tell me, I don’t actually watch it. I just want to look cool, guys.

Genevieve Burgess looks forward to the day tv show makers stop attempting to burden James Spader with lesser actors.
