Comedians Are Tackling Our National Race Issues. At Least Someone Is?

Democratic National Convention on PBS at 8:00pm ET. I’ll be honest and say that I haven’t been watching the conventions live for the most part. I find it’s better for my own sanity to follow along on twitter or catch the highlights the next day. But yesterday I watched the roll-call to officially nominate Hillary Clinton as the nominee for the Democratic party. It was overwhelming to see a woman finally, officially, break that barrier. I knew it was coming and it was still enormously emotional for me, and probably for a lot of women out there. Tonight, Joe Biden, President Barack Obama, and survivors of the Mother Emanuel Shooting in South Carolina are speaking.

Planet of the Sharks on SyFy at 9:00pm ET. Original telefilm. Ok, so this is officially SyFy’s Shark Week then. Got it.

Wayward Pines on Fox at 9:00pm ET. Second season finale.

Mr.Robot on USA at 10:00pm ET.

Black and White on A&E at 10:30pm ET. Series premiere. This is a new comedy series that has the goal of tackling a conversation about race in America. It’s hosted by Christian Finnegan and Sherrod Small. It sounds daring, but I’m probably gonna wait to hear some reviews before tuning in, just in case.
