"Come On, Neil, There Are Milliners To Keep In Business"
The Vampire Diaries on The CW at 8:00pm ET.
Scandal on ABC at 9:00pm ET. This show is beginning to commit that sin of telling us over and over again how smart certain characters are while only showing them doing dumb things. This goes for, like, basically the entire main cast these days. Olivia, Fitz, Cy, Abby, Huck, etc. Basically only Papa Pope is on point, and he’s playing all of those other fools like fiddles, even the ones who should be extremely aware that he would be trying to do exactly that.
White Collar on USA at 9:00pm ET. Sixth season premiere. I’m always amazed at the longevity of USA shows, because all of their premises seem like the kind of fun romps that would be exhausted after two seasons, three tops. This is the last season, though, so they doubled on my expectations. After how long Burn Notice ended up lasting with a barely intelligible premise, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
White Collar on USA at 9:00pm ET.
A to Z on NBC at 9:30pm ET. So I was wrong earlier this week about this being completely dumped from the schedule. Guess it’ll just peter out on its own.
Genevieve Burgess thinks there’s a lot of TV writers who need to review the “show don’t tell” rule and what it really means.
