Can Something Be Aggressively Wholesome? NBC Intends to Find Out.
Toy Story at 20: To Infinity and Beyond on ABC at 8:00pm ET. I guess the other subtitle for this was “Let’s make millenials cry at their loss of hope and wonder over the last two decades.” But this does remind me that Toy Story is the same age as my sister, so that’s a fun piece of pop culture ephemera to have floating around in my head.
Bones on Fox at 8:00pm ET. Two hour 11th season fall finale.
Michael Buble’s Christmas in Hollywood on NBC at 8:00pm ET. QUICK! Call your elderly relatives while you have a topic that both of you can agree on; that Michael Buble sure can sing “Let it Snow!” And then hang up very quickly so you don’t head into more risky territory like your opinion of Michale Buble as a person!
The Coat of Many Colors on NBC at 9:00pm ET. Original telefilm. This is a movie based on the early life of Dolly Parton. Sort of. They’re a bit cagey about it and frankly this line says both essentially nothing but also a whole lot: “It is neither a biopic nor a musical about Dolly’s whole life and performing career, but rather a family-oriented faith-based story about the incidents in her and her family’s life around the time she was nine years old. So in case you can’t get Great Aunt Doris off the phone regarding Michael Buble before disaster strikes, this should be a pretty safe redirect. “Oh no, that Dolly Parton movie is about to start! Better go! Talk soon!” and then change your number.
Nathan For You on Comedy Central at 10:00pm ET. Third season finale.
