Gotham on Fox at 8:00pm ET. Tonight’s episode is called “Arkham” so another piece of the Batman mythos falls into the story about Jim Gordon. I realize this is essentially a “Batman” series, but I feel like it’d be more interesting if it tried to build a parallel world rather than focusing so heavily on people and events that will become significant later on in the Batman story.
MLB Special: ALCS Game #3 - Baltimore at Kansas City on TBS at 8:07pm ET. I don’t usually mention baseball, but I come from an Orioles family, firmly believe that Camden Yards is the best ballpark in America, and would like to see the O’s take a world series in my lifetime. The last time they won was about three years before I was born. They’re down two in this series so far but they’re not out. Unless tonight gets rained out, which currently looks likely.
Jane the Virgin on The CW at 9:00pm ET. Series premiere. This is a new sitcom, adapted from the Venezuelan telenovela Juana la Virgen, is about a religious young woman who is accidentally artificially inseminated. The line in the wikipedia description that gives away its background as a telenovela is this one: “And to make matters worse, the biological donor is a married man, a former playboy, and cancer survivor who is not only the new owner of the hotel where Jane works, but was also her former teenage crush.” The pilot has gotten very good reviews, though, so it seems to be worth checking out.
Sleepy Hollow on Fox at 9:00pm ET.
The Blacklist on NBC at 10:00pm ET.
