“Killing in the Name” on HBO2 at 8:00pm ET. In 2005 Ashraf al-Khaled’s wedding was stuck by a suicide bomber and 27 members of the wedding party were killed in Amman, Jordan. al-Khaled has since gone on a journey to understand what social factors foster terrorism in the Muslim world. He interviews victims of other suicide bombings, radical leaders who promote and encourage suicide bombings in the name of jihad, family members of suicide bombers, and even young people who consider the suicide bombers martyrs in an attempt to learn why these attacks are taking place and how Muslim leaders can justify them when the vast majority of victims are other Muslims. The film received an Oscar nomination in 2010.
