“Monday Night Football: Preseason: Philadelphia Eagles at New England Patriots” on ESPN at 8:00pm ET.

“Intervention” on A&E at 9:00pm ET.

“Stars Earn Stripes” on NBC at 9:00pm ET. Watched some of the first episode of this and I have mixed feelings. Even with the live ammo and the “Stars” talking about how hard it is and how much it’s made them realize what real soldiers face in the field, they’re in glorified obstacle courses and it seems like something that could trivialize actual combat in the minds of viewers. One of the “operatives” even said it, when I think Eve Torres was crying about how much this brought home what service people go through he kind of laughed and said “this is like recess for us.”

“Grimm” on NBC at 10:00pm ET.

“The Inbetweeners” on MTV at 10:30pm ET. After some googling I’ve figured out that while MTV did air the original British series in several other countries, this is an American remake. However, the movie based on the original British series is scheduled to be released here on September 7th. I expect the news of the American remake of that to come several months later. To be fair, they could just have remade it because the original contained too much swearing and sexually oriented language to make it past the American morality police as opposed to a remake because Americans can’t understand thick British accents.

Genevieve Burgess can’t wait for regular television to return.
