“Home Run Derby” on ESPN at 8:00pm ET.
“Smith and Green” on TNT at 9:00pm ET. A down on his luck filmmaker moves home and pairs up with his high school best friend who’s now a private detective. Hijinks, obviously, ensue. Starring Barry Watson and Sean Patrick Thomas.
“The Crash Reel” on HBO at 9:00pm ET. This is a new documentary about brain injuries, particularly the kind that affect athletes. Most of the documentary deals with snowboarder Kevin Pearce and the injury that left him in a coma in the months before the 2010 Olympics and his ongoing recovery. It does include footage of the actual injury Pearce sustained, so if you don’t have the stomach to watch a young man fall nearly two dozen feet to land head first on the ice, then maybe DVR this so you can skip over it.
“Longmire” on A&E at 10:00pm ET.
“Under the Dome” on CBS at 10:00pm ET. I am sad they’ve apparently deviated from having every episode end with someone dying in Deputy Linda’s arms only because I found it a very darkly hilarious pattern. We’re also onto something like five different “conflicts” that could be immediately solved if people just asked each other direct questions, so that’s a sure-fire sign of an excellent show.
Genevieve Burgess blames a few minor blows to the head she took as a child for why she’s still watching “Under the Dome.”
