5 Shows After Dark: Even the Royal Box Looks Crowded
“Concert for the Queen: A Diamond Jubilee Celebration with Katie Couric” on ABC at 9:00pm ET. On one hand I’m a bit jealous of Londoners getting the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the Olympics all in one summer. It all seems very exciting On the other hand, if I want to walk down the street to get a coke without rubbing up against 5,000 people, I can.
“Love in the Wild” on NBC at 9:00pm ET. Two hour second season premiere. I don’t remember the first season of this at all, but it’s the rare reality series I would actually contemplate going on just for the ancillary benefits; contestants are taken to the Dominican Republic and compete in dual-gender pairs in challenges. The winners get to spend the evening in a luxury resort, the losers still get to spend time vacationing in the Dominican Republic without paying for it. The grand prize is a trip around the world. There’s some bullshit about ‘romantic connections’ as well, but seriously, trip around the world! Anyway, that’s what this is.
“Rizzoli and Isles” on TNT at 9:00pm ET. Third season premiere.
“Franklin & Bash” on TNT at 10:00pm ET. Second season premiere.
“Kendra On Top” on WE at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. I’m amazed people are still watching this woman, Holly and Bridget always seemed more interesting to me. I mean… what? Who is this? Why are they on television? Reality television makes me black out and have seizures so I don’t know who any of these people are because when I try to find out I just wake up hours later confused and annoyed.
Genevieve Burgess does not appreciate your sass. (That’s a lie.)
