“Discovering Lennon” on BBCA at 9:00pm ET. This is a premiere of a documentary about how the ideas of John Lennon were super inspirational to a bunch of people like Damien Hirst who cut up dead animals and stuck them in formaldehyde. I’m sure that Lennon was a huge influence on that particular piece of art. I apologize for being reductive and flippant, there, before any art people get annoyed with me. It’s just an offshoot of my annoyance at the continued veneration of Boomer culture as though it’s some sort of unassailable high point in our collective human experience. Lennon was hugely influential, but he’s been dead over 30 years and I don’t know that there’s much new to say about him. I’m sure there’s more contemporary figures worth spending hours of documentary footage examining.

“NBA Finals: Game 4” on ABC at 9:00pm ET. Wooooooo!

“Rizzoli and Isles” on TNT at 9:00pm ET.

“Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp” on Lifetime at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. I’m sensing that this has the potential to develop into a situation similar to the Kardashian series where Kris Jenner managed to get her foot in the door via her eldest daughter’s sex tape and keeps throwing additional children at reality show producers in order to build her own media empire and also get herself on camera as frequently as possible. Then Sarah Palin and Kris Jenner can have a Battle of the Momagers (I feel dirty typing that) MMA cage match on Pay-Per-Vew. It’ll be brilliant. You’ll see.

“The Glee Project” on Oxygen at 10:00pm ET.
