5 Shows After Dark: Penny Can!
“The Catalina” on The CW at 8:00pm ET. Series premiere. This is a new reality series set in a Miami Beach hotel featuring, from what I’ve read, some wildly unprofessional staff even for Miami. This is my issue with reality series set in the workplace; anything that’s television worthy is going to be just awful and annoying for the customers who aren’t there specifically because the location is featured on a reality series. Then again after this weekend’s “Miami Zombie” (don’t click unless you have a REALLY strong stomach) incident maybe a hotel owner spraying his guests with champagne seems less ‘wildly douchey’ and more ‘spontaneously wacky’ in the grand scheme of things.
“Cougar Town” on ABC at 8:00pm ET. One hour third season finale.
“20/20: The Real Queen” on ABC at 9:00pm ET. Yes, after 60 years in the public eye, what will really introduce the Queen to the world is a two hour special on American television. Quite.
“Hatfields & McCoys” on History at 9:00pm ET. I was going to snark on the History channel taking three nights to tell the story of a redneck family feud but then I remembered that about 80% of the European wars they like to feature can also be boiled down to “family feuds” but those families just happened to have whole armies at their disposal.
“Tosh.0” on Comedy Central at 10:00pm ET. Fourth season summer premiere.
Genevieve Burgess does not appreciate your sass. (That’s a lie.)
