5 Shows After Dark: Suit Up Half an Hour Later Than Usual
“Bones” on Fox at 8:00pm ET. Seventh season finale. Is it just me or has this season been basically fairy-tale happy for all our main characters. Every so often an obstacle or conflict would arise… only to be happily resolved by the end of the episode. The only season-long story line has been Baby Christine and even that’s not presenting any major impediments to the show’s formula. It’s like the writers gave up and handed the fans the fantasy life that so many of them wanted for Booth and Brennan. This show has never been realistic, but I half expect sparrows to fly out to help Brennan fasten her necklace or a team of adorable anthropomorphic mice to show up to help change the baby.
“The Weight of the Nation” on HBO at 8:00pm ET. This is a presentation that HBO put together with the Institute of Medicine, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Institute of Health as well as the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation and Kaiser Permanente. The four part documentary series explores obesity in America. There’s a lot of feelings on both sides of this topic so that’s all I’m going to say about that.
“How I Met Your Mother” on CBS at 8:30pm Et. Seventh season finale at a special time. Because that won’t piss off fans.
“Hawaii Five-0” on CBS at 10:00pm ET. Second season finale.
“Kurt Sutter’s Outlaw Empires” on Discovery at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. The volatile show-runner takes on the lives of actual deviants in this new reality series from Discovery. This episode is focused on the Crips.
Genevieve Burgess does not appreciate your sass. (That’s a lie.)
