5 Shows After Dark
“The Killing” on AMC at 8:00pm ET. Two hour second season premiere. Maybe we never find out who killed Rosie Larsen and it’s just like this tragic meditation on an unsolved murder and its devastating effects on a community. That might actually be clever. Shame they didn’t think of that before letting us know that they totally know who Rosie’s killer is and they’ll totally tell us, because that worked so well that last time we believed them when they said that.
“Game of Thrones” on HBO at 9:00pm ET. Second season premiere. I’d encourage the people who hadn’t read the books to start a death-pool for the season, but I know that those of you who HAVE read the books couldn’t contain yourselves and everyone would just get grumpy over spoilers. I swear, we need two separate posts for this show for the readers and the non-readers just to try and keep everything neat and clean.
“Mythbusters” on Discovery at 9:00pm ET. In either a wild coincidence or a very tongue in cheek tribute, tonight’s episode is called “Fire vs. Ice.”
“Shameless” on Showtime at 9:00pm ET. Second season finale.
“Mad Men” on AMC at 10:00pm ET.
Genevieve Burgess has two degrees and far too much time on her hands.
