“The Amazing Race” on CBS at 8:00pm ET. 22nd season premiere. There’s part of me that’s always been a little tempted by this show because I love traveling and getting someone else to bankroll a trip around the world is a personal goal of mine. I probably wouldn’t even mind the cameras too much, but the competition would get in the way. “Quick! You have to find the clue so you can get to the next place!” “But, I like it here! There’s like some museums, and monuments, and I’d really like to find out more about the local history!” “No! Clue! Go! Hurry! Now!” “…fine.”
“Killing Lincoln” on National Geographic Channel at 8:00pm ET.
“Downton Abbey” on PBS at 9:00pm ET. Two hour third season finale. Once again we bid farewell to the Crawley family and their staff with mingled love and exasperation, like they were a puppy who still hasn’t quite gotten the hang of being house trained yet. They seem to be doing so well and then you walk into your living room and step on a wet spot.
“Girls” on HBO at 9:00pm ET. I hadn’t had any strong feelings about this show either way but after the reaction to last week’s episode, Lena Dunham is sort of my hero. She had to know what the internet would have to say about that storyline, and she did it anyway. I might not like Hannah any better, but I have a huge amount of respect for Lena.
“The Walking Dead” on AMC at 9:00pm ET.
Genevieve Burgess would very much like it if you bought her book. Please?
