The Wrap has reportedly gotten their hands on the short-list for the new Spider-Man movie, which I believe will be called, The Amazing, Fantastic, Spectacular, Terrific Adventures of Spider-Man: Please Don’t Bail On Us. If you were hoping for something a little different from the casting department, you’re going to be disappointed. Here’s a picture of the 5 frontrunners. You might want to put on a pair of shades, because the whiteness may be blinding:

Is that the Spider-Man shortlist, or the lineup of One Direction?

To be fair, they’re actually pretty good actors, or at least a few of them. The list is: Nat Wolff (The Fault in Our Stars/Paper Towns), Asa Butterfield (Ender’s Game/Hugo), Tom Holland (The Impossible), Timothee Chalamet (Homeland) and Liam James (The Way, Way Back).

If I had to pick one, I’d probably go with Liam James (the one on the right), although he was kind of mopey in The Way, Way Back. Maybe Wolff: He was the scene-stealing funny blind kid in The Fault in Our Stars.

Ah, you know what? It doesn’t really matter. They’re all about the same. Sony expects to make test offers to the front-runners in a couple of weeks, and the lucky winner will appear in Captain America: Civil War. He’ll be the superhero struggling with the most lethal villain of them all: Dr. Puberty.
