Michael Keaton's Name Being Mentioned For Spider-Man Villain Again

On their unending quest to snatch up cast members from previous superhero properties (such as both Human Torches Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan), Marvel’s co-production with Sony has circled back to talks to cast former Batman star Michael Keaton the as yet unannounced villain in the webslinger’s first MCU standalone venture, Spider-man: Homecoming.

It’s uncertain which villain Keaton would play, the popular choice seems to be Vulture, where my own preference would be Mysterio, who I think Keaton could have a ton of fun with. It’s unlikely that the Green Goblin well would be drawn from yet again but not outside the realm of possibility. Keaton certainly could play Norman Osborn with a very different vibe than Willem Dafoe’s. An interesting enough change could make it possibly worth the attempt, although it seems like too safe a move given the wealth of great Spider-man villains we haven’t even begun to tap yet.

Just thinking outside the box entirely though, we have one other suggestion:
