As many of you are aware, Donald Trump continues to hold campaign rallies four months after the election, because he’s “running for President in 2020,” which is code for, “Stockpiling cash for his legal fund when he’s charged with treason.” He held a campaign rally out in Nashville last week, on the same day that Castleton and I were driving through. Honest to God, we thought that Nashville was one of the coolest cities we’ve ever visited — it was my first time through, and I’m already trying to plan a family vacation there. I loved that city; it feels like the Austin of Tennessee, which means you get all the benefits of both a progressive city and the South (seriously, if the South was predominantly liberal, I would live there so hard).
But it’s also home to a bunch of dumbfuck Trump supporters, who I assume mostly live in the areas surrounding Nashville, but are happy to make the trek into the city to support their President.
To wit: Here’s Jordan Klepper of The Daily Show chatting with various Trump supporters standing in line to see the man for whom they voted. And remember: These are the people that elected this man. These are also the people who will revolt if Trump is ousted, and they own most of the guns.
“As long as it says ‘Trump,’ you won’t be thinking about how bad it is.”
