Remember the days when dangerously angry, bigoted trolls were relegated to the darkest, most assholish corners of the internet? Now they’re right smack in the middle. Though if we’re looking for silver linings in this terrifying time, at the very least, when everything is out in the open, it makes it easier to see the responses and the resistance. And sometimes that resistance is fucking beautiful.
This week a new website popped up this week calling itself “Professor Watchlist.” The site is brought to us by a group called Turning Point USA. “Who is Turning Point USA?” I hear you not asking because why could you possibly care about these trolls? By the looks of it, they’re a group of dudes who hate socialism and love Ron Swanson. (You know, that fictional character played by leftist weirdo artist man Nick Offerman.)
Professor Watchlist aims to “expose and document college professors who discriminate against conservative students, promote anti-American values, and advance leftist propaganda in the classroom.” Because sure, liberalism is anti-American, unlike the practice of compiling a sinister watchlist of those whose political beliefs differ from yours.
First off, I’m going to assume that this is an accurate rendering of Professor Chaos Watchlist himself:

Does he not strike fear into the hearts of lefties everywhere?
Clearly, this is very important work. These fascist idolaters can’t be left to spew their pinko ideals to impressionable youths! Luckily, Twitter is here to help via the watchlist’s “tips” page.
Just look at all these dangerous intellectuals these people are bringing down.

Hogwarts, by the way, has a long-standing practice of hiring unsuitable professors.
Very important work being done here. #trollprofessorwatchlist pic.twitter.com/NKS74QbgUj

And don’t worry, this guy got reported a LOT.
So sad the site crashed before Cardinal Bellarmine could report Galileo. #trollprofessorwatchlist pic.twitter.com/WQPQOdDiZx

It can be hard to tell what to take entirely seriously and what just bears ignoring. There are a lot of awful things to be said about Twitter, but it sure does know how to shine a light on a subject while making sure that light is made of pure mockery.
