Starbucks FINALLY released some new drinks for me to review, allowing me to say things like, “I need to buy Starbucks FOR WORK.” I believe the last review I did for you involved the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, which I found to be delicious and perfect for its August release.

Now it’s a new year and Starbucks has two new non-dairy additions to its lineup: Almondmilk Honey Flat White and Coconutmilk Latte. While I may order and review the latter latte at a later time, today I chose the Almondmilk Honey Flat White. According to Starbucks’ website, “This flat white intentionally pairs almond milk and signature espresso with a hint of honey, making a perfect amount of creamy, nutty sweetness.”

I believe the sign at my Starbucks also said the latte was made with their blonde roast coffee, but I’m not 100% on that. At any rate, I didn’t have any expectations when taking my first sip. After all, this drink didn’t have tie-dye colors, fortune-telling sugar topping, or anything else Instagram-worthy tied into its release. I was concerned about the honey most of all, wondering whether that flavor existed only in the foamy top or if it stayed throughout the drink.

You guys, this is the smoothest, most delicate coffee drink I have ever had the pleasure of purchasing and consuming from a Starbucks.

The honey is the absolute perfect amount of sweetness in the drink without leaving a coating on the bottom (hello caramel macchiato, my old friend) or existing solely in the foam on top (Irish Cream Cold Brew). The coffee itself paired beautifully with the honey due to its smooth, soft taste and the almond milk added its own smidge of flavor to the proceedings.

It was honestly delicious and satisfying from the first to last drink, leaving me with a new favorite go-to order. Another bonus? The grande is just 150 calories, which is very low for Starbucks. I recommend everyone give the Almondmilk Honey Flat White a try on their next visit to the coffee chain.
