You Might Not Be Able To Handle 'Killing Ground'

This year’s buzzed about horror title is the atmospheric paranoia-thriller It Comes At Night. But, personally, I found that festival flick nowhere near as riveting or bone-chilling as the little-known Sundance entry Killing Ground.

Written and directed by first-time feature filmmaker Damien Powers, this scorchingly suspenseful thriller follows a couple of campers who realizes something is amiss with their neighbor’s tent. And things quickly go from bad to nightmarish when a pair of local hunters hit the grounds.

Check out the trailer below:

Reviewing for Nerdist, I wrote, “Raw, riveting and realistic, Killing Ground carves terror out of a simple setting by focusing on the plausible horror strangers can inflict on each other.” This is a horror film that’s hard to watch yet impossible to turn away from. It’ll leave you rattled, and may keep you out of the woods for the rest of your days.

Killing Ground opens in theaters and On Demand on Friday, July 21, 2017.
