Dear Lord, Again?! White Guy Joins Disney's Live Action 'Aladdin'

Come on Guy Ritchie, it’s hard enough being a fan of yours when you’re not doing crap like this.

After all that hoopla over the upcoming live action remake of Disney’s Aladdin being unable to find any actors of Indian or Middle Eastern descent who could sing (because it’s not like India’s made an entire industry around that or anything), this movie seems determined to just rub salt into an already painful wound.

The latest cast member to this project? Billy Magnussen, who will play a brand new character not seen in the original film. Because that’s what that story needed - more white people. How on earth could it be a success otherwise? Magnussen’s been a prince before. He was Rapunzel’s prince in Into The Woods, where he was roundly blown off the screen by The Best Chris. He’s also the lead in Birth of the Dragon, that Bruce Lee biopic that just wouldn’t be relatable without a white man to follow around.

Seriously, was anyone asking for this?

Let’s all relax and enjoy some photos of Marwan Kenzari, the new Jafar…
