Rolling Stone is reporting, based on an inside source, that Warner Bros. recently held an emergency meeting to discuss Ezra Miller’s future with the studio. Miller’s The Flash is due out next summer, and in the wake of their arrest and the restraining order taken out against them, the studio has decided to “hit pause on any future projects involving Miller,” according to Rolling Stone.

In addition to the arrest, the source also said that Miller had what the studio characterized as “frequent meltdowns” while shooting The Flash last year, although the “meltdowns” did not involve yelling or violent outbursts. “They described Miller as ‘losing it.’ “Ezra would get a thought in [their] head and say, ‘I don’t know what I’m doing.’” (Based on that description, I would not characterize that as a “meltdown”; it sounds like confusion, a lack of preparedness, or the everyday insecurities of a young actor.)

The pause likely puts Miller’s future as the Flash in jeopardy, which may mean recasting them in future DCEU projects (hire Tig). In the wake of the arrest, restraining order, the choking incident, and the threats made to the KKK, Miller may also be experiencing mental health issues. Or it may be something else. The author of The Rolling Stone piece, Tatiana Siegel, also stated that, in an interview with them that she conducted in 2018, Miller excitedly also tried to show her the crossbow they used in We Need to Talk about Kevin and defended the use of semi-automatic weapons for protection. Their agent, however, asked RS to pull that quote following a mass shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue.
