Last week was Disney’s big upfront event, the D23 Expo and a lot of trailers and sneak peaks were released. Here are just three of the movie trailers we’ve seen and they all tug hard at the nostalgia heart-strings.
Hocus Pocus 2: Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy return as The Sanderson Sisters in this much anticipated sequel that starts streaming on Disney+ September 30th. It also features Sam Richardson (who we’ve already determined should be cast in everything), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Tony Hale (Arrested Development) and Doug Jones reprising his role as Billy Butcher.
Disenchanted: The sequel to 2007’s Enchanted welcomes back Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, and James Marsden. Added to that original cast is Idina Menzel, Maya Rudolph, Gabriella Baldacchino, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Jayma Mays. It will be available for streaming on Disney+ November 24th.
Finally, coming only to theaters in May of 2023, Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey, Jonah Hauer-King, Melissa McCarthy, Javier Bardem, Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian, and Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder.
Out of the sea, wish I could be… part of that world.
