Trailer Trash: The Woman in the Window Loves All the Boys in Little America

Welcome to another edition of Trailer Trash, where we will kick it off with the Netflix sequel to the very popular rom-com To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before with that Ruffalo-looking dude. This one is called To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, and I kind of wish this series would cross over with All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, which is a joke that three of you get. You’re my people.

The Woman in the Window stars Amy Adams, and it’s based on the novel by A. J. Finn, who is actually Dan Mallory, who totally lied and said he had brain cancer to illegitimately advance his literary career. It, uh, worked. The book is being adapted into a very captivating mystery thriller with a May release date and Amy Adams and Julianne Moore. The lesson here appears to be: It pays to lie! The trailer for Never Rarely Sometimes Always is hard. Writer/director Eliza Hittman tracks two teenage girls who must travel from bumfuck PA to New York to deal with an unintended pregnancy. The trailer itself is gut-wrenching, so I can’t imagine how difficult the movie must be to watch.

We’ll make a very quick mood shift here with the latest trailer for Top Gun: Maverick. Smug dipshit Tom Cruise is my favorite Tom Cruise.

Little America, a series of eight heartfelt stories inspired by true immigrant experiences, looks like something we’d find on Disney+, but I ain’t mad at it.

Finally, here’s the last trailer for Sam Mendes’ 1917, which I haven’t paid much attention to. It looks terrific if you’re into the sort of Saving Private Ryan crossed with Dunkirk kind of war movie. It gets a limited release on Christmas Day and it goes wide in January.
