I don’t wanna brag, but this week’s trailer round up is EPIC. I’m so excited I can’t stand it. And no, that’s not me being hyperbolic — ever since the Mandy trailer dropped I was like “OH SHIT THIS IS GONNA BE SICK!”

So — let’s do this thing.

Mandy — In theaters September 14
Nicolas Cage and and Andrea Riseborough star as a couple living an idyllic existence, until they get terrorized by a sadistic cult… in 1983. And it looks like there’s a chainsaw fight? And a some bloody-faced Cage Rage? THIS IS TICKING ALL OF MY BOXES — including the one for “Gee, I wonder what Panos Cosmatos, director of Beyond the Black Rainbow, is gonna direct as his follow -up?” Even if TK doesn’t assign me to review this, I’ma review anyway, and it’ll probably just be me writing out “oh shit” and “heavy breathing” for like 500 words.

But if that’s MY idea of the perfect movie, then this just might be Dustin’s…

Juliet, Naked — In theaters August 17
Rose Byrne questions the life choices that led her into a long-ass relationship with Chris O’Dowd, a dude that’s OBSESSED with a mysterious 90s rocker played by Ethan Hawke. And then Rose and Ethan hit it off via THE INTERNET, and they meet and make-out a lil bit, and Chris is all like “Whaaaaaa?”. And it’s based on a Nick Hornsby novel. Unclear if there’ll be a chainsaw fight, though.

The Predator — In theaters September 14
FUCK YOU, DON’T COMPETE WITH MANDY ON THE SAME RELEASE DATE! Ahem. Anyway, this is Shane Black’s entry into the long-running “trophy hunters from outer space” franchise. As a writer and director, I mean. He was like the first dude killed in the original Predator, but he’s grown since then! And look, seeing his name attached to anything piques my interest. This time around the Predators are upgrading themselves using DNA from other species, and then a little boy attracts them to Earth, and a bunch of ex-soldiers and a science teacher have to save the human race. Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, and Yvonne Strahovski star… as people who might get brutally killed by Predators in this.

The House with a Clock in its Walls — In theaters September 21
Look, I dunno if I trust Eli Roth to make a kids movie. Or to adapt source material touched by Edward Gorey. And yet… I kinda really wanna watch this? WHO EVEN AM I? Kristy already covered the first trailer, but here’s a new one to give you a better taste of the Jack Black/Cate Blanchett banter. Oh yes. There’s banter. And Evil Kyle MacLachlan!

Support The Girls — In theaters August 24
This comedy takes place over one emotional rollercoaster of a day at a “Hooters”-esque highway sports bar called Double Whammies. Regina Hall has been getting great reviews as Lisa, the optimistic and protective “den mother”-type manager who oversees the curvy waitresses, mitigates the drama, and tries to keep everything running smoothly.

Beautiful Boy — In select theaters October 12
Whoa. So this one is based on a pair of memoirs, written by a father and son — who are played in the film by Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet. The film chronicles years of addiction, recovery, and relapse, and it looks intense as hell. Like, the trailer alone wore me the fuck out. Also stars Amy Ryan and Maura Tierney.

Assassination Nation — In theaters September 21
I have no idea what the fuck is going on here. A town goes mad? Frogs? Male egos? Bill Skarsgård?

Coming To Netflix:

Disenchantment — Streaming August 17
Matt Groening takes on the world of FANTASY! This new cartoon series follows the medieval adventures of a drunk princess (Abbi Jacobson), her elf friend (Nat Faxon), and her personal demon (Eric André). John DiMaggio, Billy West, Rich Fulcher, Matt Berry and Noel Fielding also lend their voices.

The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter — Streaming July 6
Josh Brolin and Danny McBride take a kid out hunting. Directed by Jody Hill and written by Hill, McBride, and John Carcieri, who all worked on Vice Principals and Eastbound & Down so you know — expect that kinda humor?

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society — Streaming August 10
Old Timey Romance! Lily James stars as a writer who travels to Guernsey Island in the aftermath of World War II, and decides to write a book about the experiences of the locals during the war. And of course she falls for Michiel Huisman, just like a certain Mother of Dragons did — only she’s already got a man in her life (Glen Powell). OH SHIT.

Father of the Year — Streaming July 20
Naked David Spade. Make of that what you will.

And In Other News:

A Discovery Of Witches doesn’t have a US release date, but Sky One just released a first look trailer so if you liked the books… here’s that story, only with people like Matthew Goode, Teresa Palmer, and Alex Kingston playing it out?
