You’ve likely seen these tweet or some version of it floating around every time there is a new Tom Cruise film in theaters.

It is crazy to think, even if Wilford Brumley was rolling around with Jean Claude Van Damme in the mid-90s. Even with his wild Cajun flavor, Brimley is far from where Cruise is at this moment. Cruise is practically running at 300% at all times, overclocked and ready to defy death at all corners. Plus his movies haven’t been that bad for a long time, which is not something you can say about other action stars.

His latest, Mission: Impossible - Fallout is getting rave reviews and has many calling it the best of the series, hailing Cruise’s stunts and running as the best of his career. He might be 56 years old, but he’s jumping out of planes and running like a madman all around the world.

The latest example outside the movie is this clip from The Late Late Show where Cruise forced James Corden to jump from a plane at 15,000 feet. Cruise jumped from 25,000 for his HALO jump in the film, so this is technically a mixture of the two. Corden does a tandem jump, while Cruise pops on the high altitude mask and acts like he’s a natural:

The actual jump seems fun, but it’s the stuff around the pair getting on the plane that is pretty entertaining. Cruise chases down Corden twice before forcing him to flop around on a board to prepare for the dive. Corden also makes a funny comment about mixing up Cruise with Tom Hiddleston.

Personally, I’d kinda like to see Wilford Brimley do this sort of thing. Right now. Just strap him to some guy and push him out of a plane for a Quaker Oats commercial. It’d be fun until we realize the Oats are what they packed into the chute.
