This Week's Three Trailers Are A Bloody Good Time Thanks To John Woo

I’ve been sick all week so these three trailers are all projects I’m looking forward to because I need something to lighten the load of my stuffy sinuses.

The best thing that the old Percy Jackson movies had going for them was Logan Lerman. The upcoming Disney+ series makes it look downright pale in comparison. Walker Scobell (The Adam Project) stars as Percy along with Leah Jeffries (Beast) as Annabeth, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover.

Percy Jackson and The Olympians also stars Jason Mantzoukas, Adam Copeland, Timothy Omundson, and Lance Reddick in one of his final roles as Zeus. It begins streaming with a two-episode premiere on Disney+ on December 20th.

Returning to prove that he’s still a master of the action genre, John Woo has teamed up with Joel Kinnaman to deliver a bloody, vengeful Christmas tale in Silent Night.

Also featured in this mostly dialogue-free film are Scott Mescudi (a.k.a. Kid Cudi), Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Harold Torres. I feel like I should have more to say about this, but the trailer speaks for itself. Silent Night opens in theaters on December 1st.

Imaginary is the next trailer from the “producers of M3gan clearly trying to capitalize off of M3gan, and you know what? It just might work. It’s an imaginary friend movie, if the imaginary friend killed people.

Imaginary is in theaters on March 8th!

For this week’s lagniappe, I found a movie that I want to be excited for. But I just can’t get there. Perhaps it’s because Netflix is an almost constant source of disappointment. Or maybe because I’ve already watched The Princess. I don’t know. Either way, Robin Wright and Millie Bobby Brown will star in DAMSEL which begins streaming on Netflix sometime in 2024.
